PVP Lineup Analysis

In Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac (Tencent)'s current meta, there are three main PvP lineups: SPD + ATK, Crowd Control & Counterattack. I'll elaborate on each one of them here. Different lineups come with different strategic advantages, but of course, much of it still relies on attributes. So, even if you follow a lineup exactly, you might not get the results you want if your attributes aren’t good enough.

Speedy attack build: Sextants Luna + Cepheus Daidalos + Firebird Ikki + Centaurus Babel

PvP:

Use Ikki's high SPD to your advantage and to enable your team to act before the opponent. This makes it possible to damage the enemy heavily during round one, and possibly wipe them out in round two. Due to Babel’s bouncing attacks, Ikki’s attack on the second round is most likely an AoE one. As they are wounded from round one, you'll be able to deal high damage to many targets at once.

Energy:

Luna spends 1 energy, Daidalos 1, Ikki 1 and Babel uses his basic attack. As this lineup doesn’t rely on Kiki, it's recommended to have a Marsh Fairy + Roc to make up for this. This way, you might want to buff Babel with Luna during the first round, and stack up burn effects with his basic attack, enabling Ikki to dish out some serious damage. If you're up against Saints with high damage such as Saga, you might want to buff Daidalos instead to weaken its attack.

Choosing Cosmo:

Marsh Fairy is a must. To get the most SPD, you can use a certain number of Iris. As Ikki launches combo attacks, Silver Dragon greatly increases his damage. Hyacinth is a great choice for Daidalos, making him weaken the enemy even further.

Lineup:

Many players believe Firebird Ikki to be a real powerhouse, which is why they focus on trying to kill him. But that might not be the best option as Ikki has a shield of flames which inflicts a stack of burn on Saints who attack him without managing to kill him, and might put you in a tricky position in the next round. When up against this type of lineup, your crowd controls need to have higher SPD than them, making it possible to cc them before they act. The next one you should focus on is Daidalos. That’s because he absorbs your attack power and gives it to his teammates. Killing him returns the stolen attack power to you, and greatly weakens the enemy. As Luna is a Saint who can increase the power of almost anyone, and seeing as she’s a rather squishy class B card, she’s also a great target.

Crowd control build: Kiki + Sextants Luna + Cygnus Hyoga + Aquarius Camus + Crane Yuzuriha + Eagle Marin.

PvP:

Have Luna buff Hyoga, and use him to stack up several Ice Seals on the enemy with his bouncing attack. Have Camus crowd control a key target, and use Yuzuriha’s battle assist to deal extra damage. When the time is right, use Diamond Dust on targets with 3 seals. It is important to use this skill at the right time.

Energy: As you have both Kiki and Marsh Fairy, you will start at 5 energy. Luna spends 1, Hyoga spends 2 (with Luna’s buff), and Camus spends 2. That way you make use of every last point. (You normally don't need a heal for the first round, and you'll have enough energy during round 2 to heal anyway)

Choosing Cosmo:

As you have both Marsh Fairy and Kiki, there’s no need to make up for energy with your Cosmo. Which is why you can use them for support abilities, more survivability and higher damage. Iris is recommended if you want to act first. As Hyoga’s attacks are somewhat random, choosing Decelerator to break up the enemy’s stride is a good choice. As Yuzuriha is a battle support, she often has quite a high chance to crit, and that makes Kingfisher very good. For Marin you can use Laurel Tree to increase her healing.

Lineup:

Hyoga is this lineup’s main Saint. He is responsible for stacking Ice Seal, for triggering Yuzuriha’s attacks and for crowd controls. That’s why focusing and taking out Hyoga first is a good choice. The recommended kill order is Hyoga > Luna > Yuzuriha > Camus.

Counterattack build: Chameleon June + Eagle Marin + Saori + Pegasus Seiya + Aries Mu + Lizard Misty

PvP:

Come hit me if you dare! Your entire lineup should be equipped with Manjusaka for Reflect DMG. After linking your Saints’ HP together, you can heal and shield them. Your goal is to drag the fight on for some ten rounds and then kill them with Mu’s Starlight Extinction.

Energy:

As you don't have Kiki, you'll be starved for energy during the first rounds. But that’s all right, as long as you can use June to share the damage none of your Saints can be one-shotted. Marin’s AoE heals are great against AoE damage. When you get into the later rounds, you can use heals, damage immunity and reflect damage shields. The most important thing is that Saori should be slightly quicker than June. If June gets crowd controlled, Saori can simply purify her. If she isn’t able to make your team share damage, you might lose a Saint or two.

Choosing Cosmo:

Apart from the Marsh Fairy on Misty, the rest of your team should be equipped with Manjusaka.

Lineup:

If you are quicker than them, you can begin by killing June, however, that’s quite difficult to accomplish. If you can manage it, you can control June after Saori has acted, but that might also be quite tricky. A good choice is using energy stealing Saints such as Asterion or Xiaoling. This makes the enemy unable to use their skills, and that might give you a chance to kill off June. Another choice is to just overwhelm them with strong AoE attacks! However, for this you need high damage and healing.
