SPD determines the action order of Saints. The Saint with the highest SPD acts first.
SPD can be increased by the following means:
1) Socketing a Cosmo with SPD bonuses.
2) Giving Flowers at Saint Temples.
3) Using skills that increase your SPD attribute.
